Using its Pathfinder Programme in 18 areas across England, it assists in meeting government objectives for improving public services and presents a major opportunity for local authorities and other accountable bodies to address key citizenship and community participation indicators.

Take Part North East is the Regional Take Part Champion for the North East, and is a partnership between local authorities, third sector bodies and educational institutions. It provides learning opportunities to residents in the form of workshops, accredited courses and bespoke training to develop community leadership, an understanding of how power works and skills to influence public policies.

Each Regional Take Part Champion in the country is responsible for supporting and spreading Take Part activity across their region and takes the leading role in all associated programmes and promotions.
